TIGNOSELLA OR PELATO?

Tignosella or pelato, pistachio anyway!
It is considered an aphrodisiac fruit, probably just because in its cultivation you need one male tree for eight female trees.

From Minor Asia to Syria and to Turkestan, its places of origin, it was brought to Italy by the Romans.

In Sicily, at the feet of Etna mountain, 1% of the world production of what is called the Bronte “green gold” is currently reaped. A gold that is worth a DOP (protected designation of origin).

In the United States excellent varieties of pistachio are cultivated.

It contains Omega 3 fatty acids, which help preventing cardiovascular diseases and arthritis. It is rich in vitamins and antioxidant minerals (Selenium) which prevent cell aging.
